About The Lowry Estate

The Lowry Estate is a premier boutique that was born in Brooklyn, New York but currently resides in Farmington, Michigan.  The shop sells vintage clothing and shoes for women, and a limited selection of men's pieces. We specialize in festive looks from the 70s through 90s. Proprietor, Corliss Elizabeth Williams, uses her distinct eye for culling striking, yet timeless apparel for clients aiming to enhance their individual style. Named for Williams’ grandmother, Mabel Lowry (second from left above) – a professional and independent woman who traveled the world in Ferragamo and fur – The Lowry Estate empowers individuals to confidently “own the room” with colorful statement pieces they will cherish forever.

Biography

Born in Metro Detroit, Corliss Elizabeth Williams is a graduate of Pratt Institute. Before founding The Lowry Estate, she worked for more than fifteen years in editorial art direction and graphic design at news-based publications like Bloomberg MarketsTIME and The New York Times Magazine. Still connected to the design community, she is currently a 2020-2023 board member of the prestigious Society of Publication Designers.

Alongside her award-winning career in magazines, she maintained her unwavering passion for discovering exceptional vintage pieces, first experimenting with e-tailing in ‘08 with her Etsy shop, Glittermini. In 2015, she left publishing to focus on The Lowry Estate – finally pursuing her dream of helping women subtly integrate vintage into their world of style.

She had her first brick-and-mortar location in Bushwick, NY and swiftly opened up a new space within a year of relocating back to her midwestern roots in Michigan, where she currently has her second brick-and-mortar boutique in Farmington. It's a true gem, and you must visit.

She currently resides in a peaceful and charming townhouse with her daughter Amelia Elizabeth (Aka Emi and “The Little Lady of Lowry”) close to the shop in Historic Farmington.
